Precommissioning is the stage where a project finds out what it actually built. Debris left in a line, a joint that was never properly tested, moisture sitting in a system that should be bone dry: these do not announce themselves during construction. They announce themselves at startup, in front of the client.
We carry out the cleaning, testing and drying scope that turns installed pipework and equipment into systems that can be safely handed to operations.
Chemical cleaning
Degreasing, descaling and passivation for systems where residue would damage equipment or contaminate product on day one.
Nitrogen purging
Displacing oxygen and moisture from systems before they see hydrocarbons, with monitored inerting rather than a nominal blow-through.
Hydrotesting
Pressure testing to specification, with calibrated gauges, held durations and documentation that stands up to review.
Flushing and drying
Removing construction debris and water so that lines are genuinely clean and dry, verified rather than assumed.
Reinstatement and handover support
Putting systems back to their operating configuration and producing the dossier that lets the client accept them with confidence.
Almost every expensive startup delay we have seen traces back to precommissioning that was compressed to protect a construction date. Skipping it does not save time, it moves the time to the worst possible point in the schedule and adds an audience. We would rather have the uncomfortable conversation early.
This scope rarely arrives alone. Most clients combine it with one or more of our other five disciplines under a single contract, which is the point of how we are set up — one accountable company, one schedule, one person answering for the result.
